My final project for narrative strategies will consist of me working closely with Dr. Christina Hillson as she teaches underprivileged women about breast cancer. Several times a year Dr. Hillson and her colleagues go to a women's shelter in West Philadelphia to speak to women about early detection and treatment, as well as providing care for women already diagnosed.
The details of my involvement still need to be ironed out, but I will be either assisting Dr. Hillson as she teaches, or documenting the experience as it happens. As soon as I get another chance to speak to her, I will post details.
